Your space for creativity and development

Welcome,

I am Ilona

I’m a sculptor, art therapist and creativity counsellor with a vision to support you in creating your own unique life.
I have been a creative professional for almost three deacades and after many years of focusing on my art, international exhibitions, art fairs, and everything that’s involved with being a professional artist, I realised that I not only want to inspire people with my work, but also give them access to their own creativity. I continued studying and heeded the call to never stop learning.

In my work as an art therapist and creativity counsellor, I combine my skills and experience to create a bespoke experience for each individual. Helping other creative and searching souls is my purpose and passion.

In a nutshell, creativity counselling is about helping you through your process of doing creative work. Perfectionism, overwhelm, self-criticism and distraction are common challenges. Where life or business counselling is mainly goal-focused, creativity counselling is focusing on the process, honouring the non-linear process of creativity, and the independent creative personality.

Focusing on the process means it’s about the work. It’s not about popularity, likes, or hustle. It’s about doing work that adds value to your life and the life of your family, friends, colleauges…, in a way you enjoy.

Prioritising self-love and compassion might just be the smartest investment you’ll ever make. Sucess is loving yourself completely through the process of creating and building your own life in every.

About Neomorphosis

Transformation and metamorphosis are the constant topic in my artistic work. My characters are always in the moment of change – a symbol of life. For us humans, every day is an opportunity to become aware, to change, to grow, to develop…

But it’s not about the big all-encompassing steps, it’s the small and yet so important steps that we take creatively and playfully to find more of ourselves again. So let’s be “neomorphic”, let’s discover, define and develop our creative selves at our own speed.

From My Clients

“Me and wood sculpture – unimaginable”, those were my thoughts since I had no previous knowledge in working with chisel and hammer. Whatever, I signed up for a class with Ilona at the Summer Academy in Neuburg (Germany). Her sculptures fascinated me, and I really wanted to experience how it is possible to breathe life into a piece of wood. In this course, with the help of Ilona’s calm and very attentive guidance, I succeeded in working deeper and deeper into my inner self, just as I did with my wooden trunk. Her targeted craftsmanship in creating, together with valuable inputs, I soon realised that this week would shape my life in a very positive way. No matter what issue came up or what perceived failure I encountered with the chisel, I never had the feeling of being doomed, criticised, or judged negatively. Ilona always showed me that all of this was exactly right and important to my own process. I came to know her not only as a very talented wood sculptor, but also as a sensitive teacher with an incredible wealth of knowledge.”
Heidi Etsberger, Neuburg, Germany

Interiour Designer and Feng Shui Consultant

“I was lucky enough to attend one of Ilona’s workshops in Germany before she moved to Australia. I like to think back to that time, because Ilona is very empathetic and always formulates the support individually and responds to each individual. She has the gift of recognising strengths and weaknesses of everyone and starting and supporting them right there. One grows in here presence and leave the course with a contented and fulfilling result. I’m still proud of my sculpture, which has found its place in my garden.”
Barbara Hermann, Neuburg, Germany

“Ilona is an excellent and highly skilled creative coach who has helped me to discover a creative side I never knew I had. Ilona gave me the confidence to undertake a project I had been putting off and inspired me to put aside any doubts I had about myself and my abilities. I admire Ilona’s own artwork and can highly recommend her as a creativity coach.”
Alex de Fircks, Melbourne

Writer and Family Historian

“I met Ilona Herreiner in 2011 during a wood-carving course at the Summer Academy in Neuburg, Germany. Very quickly a bond developed between her and me and all the other course participants. I immediately recognized the effect Ilona had on the course participants and the people around her. Over the years she has repeatedly exhibited her charisma and talent which can be divided into several categories. Ilona has an exceptional gift for sculpturing. She has mastered her craft to perfection. Her works of art show incredible imagination. Depending on her intention the viewer feels the desired expression and tangible power in her work.
As a teacher, she understands in a unique way how to engage with her students, to pick them up at the point of their abilities, then to challenge and support them to reach their physical and mental limits. Through conversation and minimal sculptural assistance, she motivates them to achieve their best. All the courses I took part in, ended with the participants proudly finishing their own work. In conversations beyond fine arts, one recognizes her profundity about life and her attitude towards the all-encompassing being. This spiritual attitude gives her the ability to see and appreciate others as they are. In doing so, firmly anchored beliefs can be changed and resolved during discussions with her. In all she does, Ilona is and remains authentic. She is humorous and spreads a field of joy and well-being. Without exception, people seek her closeness, feel attracted to her and enjoy the time and experience with her. Ilona is an exceptional person and a very special woman. Richness of imagination, perfection in craftsmanship, empathy, spirituality, humour, social skills and emotional intelligence are all part of her character. I’m happy and grateful for every conversation we’ve had so far, for every moment we shared and for every glass of wine we enjoyed together. It is a blessing for me to have her as a teacher, companion and friend. I thank the universe.”
